NEW YORK CITY #3 (Coney Island, Empire State Building, Grand Central Station)

ENG: At Tuesday we went to the Empire State Building, but sadly it was very cloudly, and the view wasn´t that good, but it was able to look down the building. Later we went to Coney Island and ate some Mac&Cheese at Wahlburgers, really delicious. In the evenig we visited te Grand Central station
and I drank some really cold Lemonade. 

NEW YORK CITY #2 (Central Park, 5th Av, Brooklyn Bridge)

Montag/Monday

ENG: On monday we had a guided tour at Harlem, very intresting, but I didn´t took very good pics. For lunch we had Soulfood, it was super delicious and special. After eating we went to the Columbia University, with it´s huge libary. In front of it was a student event with music and ballons, it was very nice. After that we went to Central Park, and to be honest, it was so good to come out of the crowded streets and all the houses after two days and to be surrounded by nature. later we went to 5th Avenue and to Rockefeller Center. We had 2h for shopping, and I went to the M&M store. I ate a super delicious Frozen Jougurt, but it was super expensive, like $8,50 , I think I would never buy this at home! The last thing of the day was Brooklyn Bridge, and at this point it started to be a little bit rainy.

DE: Dienstag hatten wir eine Führung durch Harlem, das war interessant, aber ich habe leider keine guten Fotos gemacht. Zu Mittag haben wir in einem Soulfood Resaurant gegessen, das war echt lecker und außergewöhnlich. Danach ging es weiter zum Campus der Columbia University, mit ihrer riesigen Bibliothek. Dann weiter Richtung Central Park, und ich muss sagen, nach zwei Tagen purem Betonjungel hat es richtig gut getan, etwas grün um sich zu haben. Später gings noch zur 5 th Avenue und zum Rockefeller Center. Dort hatten wir dann auch 2 h zum shoppen, ich war im M&M Store, und habe echt leckeren Frozen Joghurt gegessen (auch wenn ich mir für den Preis, 8,50$, in Deutschland nicht einfach so Eis kaufen würde). Später waren wir dann noch auf der Brooklyn Bridge, da fing es aber auch an leicht zu regnen. Zum Schluss Tageswaren wir in einem für die USA sehr gesunden Supermarkt, mit viel Obst und Gemüse und einer eigenen Salatbar zum selbstabfüllen.

NEW YORK CITY #1 (Times Square, Stature of Liberty, SOHO)

DE: In de ersten Woche meiner großen Ferien war ich in New York.Und es war einfach nur awesome! Die Stadt ist riesig, man kann um eine Ecke biegen und vor einem liegt eine völlig andere Welt mit neuen Eindrücken. Natürlich habe ich auch viel fotographiert und deshalb werde ich den Post auch in zwei Hälften teilen..

ENG: I spent my firt week of my summer holidays at New YorkCity. It was just awesome!The city is so huge,that you can go around a corner and in front of you is a new world. I took a lot of pics, of corse, and because of this i`ll split this post into two parts.

Samstag / Saturday
ENG: My flight started at the airport Berlin Tegel, it was a non-stop flight about 9 hours. It was a bit stressful, but I was lucky with my seat, because I had the window right next to me. I traveled with a youth organisation, because of that we had a bus that took us from JFK to our hotel in Queens. We were setting up at our hotel room,and later we drove to Times Square by subway. If you have never seen these huge buildings and billboards in real life, you´ll never can imagine the size of them. it was just overwhelming. it was also already dark, and all Billboards where lighting up the night.
 
 DE: Abflug war am Flughafen Tegel in Berlin, es war ein Dierektflug über 9h. Das war schon anstrengend, aber ich hatte das Glück am Fenster zu sitzen, deshalb habe ich mich nicht ganz so eingezwängt gefühlt. Ich war dort mit einer Organisation, deshalb wurden wir gleich mit einem Bus von JFK abgeholt und sind in unser Hotel gefahren, das in Queens war. Wir haben erst mal ausgepackt und sind dann gleich zum Times Square gefahren. Wenn man so riesige Gebäude und Anzeigetafeln noch nie in echt gesehen hat, kann man sich die Größe einfach nicht vorstellen. Es war dann auch schon dunkel, und alle Bildschirme warfen ihren Schein durch die Nacht.

Sonntag / Sunday
DE:Zum Hotel gehörte auch das Hotelfrühstück, und das war für eine Europäerin wie mich schon etwas gewöhnungsbedurftig, denn es gab nur Süßes, eine ganz Platte voll mit Doughnuts, helle Bagel und süße Aufstriche. keine Wurst, kein Käse.Absolout nichts herzhaftes.
Wir hatten dann eine Stadtführung, die Wall str. entlang, am Broardway, durch Midtown und dann durch Chinatown, Little Italy und SOHO.

ENG: With our hotel came a breakfast, of course. It was something very special for an european like me, because they only had sweet things, a whole plate of Doughnuts, light dough Bagels and only sweet toppings, no meat or cheese. Nothing hearty.
Later we had a guided tour, along Wall Str. , Broadway, Midtown and we walked at Chinatown, Little Italy and SOHO.

ENG: The last thing for the day was a Boat ride with the ferry to Staten Island, around the Stature of Liberty. The Skyline of Manhattan was rising in front of us.

DE:Als letztes sind wir mit der Staten Island Fähre um die Freiheitsstatur gefahren. Die Skyline von Manhattan ragte vor uns auf.

NEW YORK CITY STREETART

ENG: Last week I was in New York for the first time, it was also my first time in the USA.
 A post about my time there, and what i did is coming up in the next weeks.
Mainly in Soho you can find a lot of street art, but also in Little Italy, Chinatown and on the Brooklyn Bridge. I was surprised by the difference of the motives, but that´s the thing about street art, you never know what to expect.

DE:Letzte Woche war ich zum ersten Mal in New YorkCity, und außerdem auch zum ersten Mal in den USA. Was ich dort alles unternommen habe, werde ich nochmal in einem extra Post erzählen, der in den nächsten Wochen erscheinen wird.
Man findet Streetart hauptsächlich in Soho, aber auch in Little Italy, Chinatown und auf der Brooklyn Bridge. Ich war überrascht von der Vielfältgkeit der Motive, aber so ist das eben bei Street Art, man weiß nie was man erwarten soll.
